Thank you for taking a few minutes to visit my website. Diane and I were married in 1995 at St. Michael's in North Andover and we have lived in BallardVale for 22 years. We are blessed by the opportunity to raise our four kids in Andover and enjoy being active in the community.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a MLA in Landscape Architecture & Regional Planning. I have been employed as a Town Planner, Land Planner and Landscape Architect over the course of my thirty year career. In 1999, I started Huntress Associates, Inc. We are a full service design, planning and engineering firm specializing in campus, recreation and sports related projects. Our clients include private entities, municipalities, colleges and private secondary schools.
I have served on the following Volunteer Boards and Committees in Andover:
1. Andover Select Board Member 2018 - 2021
2. Andover Youth Center Building Committee Chair: 2013 - 2016.
3. Tri-Town I93 Interchange Task Force Andover Representative: 2007-2011
4. Ballardvale Historic District Commission Member: 1996-2005, Chair: 2000-2005
5. Ballardvale Traffic Task Force Member: 2000 - 2001
6. Lowell Junction Interchange Task Force Chair: 2006-2011
I have been honored to serve on your Select Board for the last three years. In that time, we have dealt with many issues that were not anticipated in the last election cycle, including the Columbia Gas disaster and a Covid-19 pandemic. We have also worked with the community to move some issues forward that were long overdue, including seating our first Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. I look forward to being a part of that discussion as we move forward together. Over those same three years, I have worked hard to address the issue of our unfunded liabilities, build a new fire station and senior center, address our aging water infrastructure and plan for the Historic Mill District to expand our already vibrant downtown. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve on your behalf.
I am very proud of our work on the Cormier Youth Center to design and build a premier youth development facility. I worked with a great Building Committee and we achieved more than many thought possible. The project raised over $5m in private donations from great partners, including Noella & Ivan Cormier, Commonwealth Motors, Phillips Academy and many others. The building was also generously supported by the Town of Andover with over $2.7m dedicated to the project. Today the Cormier Youth Center is host to over 34,000 visitors a year, including youth, seniors, community groups and many events. The success of this project would not have been possible without the hard work, respect and cooperation of the many supporters and believers!
WHY WE LOVE ANDOVER
Diane and I decided long ago that we would stay and make Andover our home. We both value the character of Andover and support the Andover Historical Society and AVIS, two amazing groups that work to protect our valuable resources. Our family has benefited from a strong school system and dedicated teachers at South, West Middle and AHS. We have also found an extended family at Christ Church on Central Street, and we have been very fortunate to be able to raise our kids in a community of faith. We plan to stay put in BallardVale, and I will work to make sure that decisions we make today have a positive impact on our future.
To be successful I need your help. If you would like to get involved please follow the links on this page to volunteer and contribute.
Thank you, and please remember to get out and VOTE on March 23, 2021!
